Testing the Flash creative

The creative is shown in the Creative name box.

To test if the Flash creative is working properly, you must go through two steps:

1. Testing the clickTAG

To test if the clickTAG is working, click on Test to the right of the creative.

This will open the creative in a new window. To test it, simply click on the creative.

When you click on the creative, a new window should appear in your browsing showing this message:

This means that the clickTAG is working and your creative should work as long as the click url is correct.

If you are not directed to this site, the ActionScript coding of the clickTAG file is not done according to Emediates flash specifications. This means that EmediateAd not only will be unable to count clicks on this creative but visitors will most likely not be redirected to the proper url when clicking on the creative.

In this case it is advised that you contact the developer of the flash file and ask them to make sure that the clickTAG is made according to Emediates flash specifications.

With a flash decompiler program, you have the possibility of checking if the clickTAG is made correctly. Read more on how to do this here in our FAQ

2. Testing the URL

If you tested the clickTAG in step one and it worked flawlessly, you are also able check if the url is working correctly.

Click on View to the right of the creative name. This opens the creative in a new window. To test if the url is working correctly click on the creative and see if you are directed to the proper url.

If the clickTAG is not coded correctly (as described in the top of the page), clicking on the creative through the view function will not work. Thus you must always test the clickTAG before concluding if the url is working correctly.
